Conference Overview
Eternity Bible College is excited to partner with Cornerstone Church in hosting the Gospel Conference. Our prayer is that this conference will better equip you, as members of the body of Christ, to live lives that are transformed by the Gospel.

To put it simply, this conference is about the Gospel and its implications in our lives. The Gospel is a message of initial salvation, but it goes far beyond that. It is a message of God’s mission to the world. The Gospel transforms everything in our lives – not only the way we think, but also the way we live. There is no aspect of our lives that is not affected.

This goes beyond each person’s relationship with Jesus. Though God saves individuals, he does not save them to live independently, but to live in community. We are called to live out the Gospel in the context of the body of Christ. Only in this context can we truly understand what it means to live the Gospel.

Yet even this group of believers is set within a larger context. God has placed us in the midst of an unbelieving world that needs to see and hear the truth of the Gospel. This conference will explain practically how we, as a community of believers, are to live out this mission in the everyday situations in which God has placed us.

For EBC Students
For the week of the conference (March 29 - April 5, 2009), we will be cancelling your normal classes. For each unit you are enrolled in, you must attend one hour of the conference (see below for more details).

Each student must fill out this form and turn it in to the EBC office by April 8, 2009.

Student Attendance

Requirements

  1. Each Student taking classes at EBC for credit is required to attend the Global Ministry Conference.
  2. Conference attendance is based upon how many units each student is taking. (For example: if you are taking 9 units this semester, then you must attend 9 hours of the conference.)
  3. Your Attendance Sheet must be completed and turned in by April 8, 2009.

Consequence for Non-Attendance
If you do not complete the amount of hours that you are required to attend, you will need to complete an assignment for each hour you miss in order to fulfill your Gospel Conference Requirement.

We will be posting the audio from the conference here. If you fail to attend the required number of hours, you will need to listen to the appropriate number of hours from the conference, and write a two page double-spaced summary for each seminar or general session that you need to make up. These summaries should briefly describe the content of the session and how that content should affect your life and ministry. The summary papers must be submitted to the Dean of Students. The conference audio will be available here.

If you fail to attend the required number of hours, you will have a “hold” placed on your account until these summary papers are submitted. This means that you will not be able to view your grades or register for classes until the hold is removed.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact the Dean of Students.

Student Appeal
If for any reason you will be unable to attend the conference (note: this is different than not wanting to attend the conference), you must make an appeal to the Dean of Students at least one week before the conference begins. If the appeal is not received at least one week prior to the beginning of the conference or if your appeal is denied, you will be required to fulfill the above requirements. All other absences will be subject to the consequences for non-attendance above. Appeal forms are available in the EBC office.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact the Dean of Students.
