Mark Beuving

Mark Beuving currently serves as the Associate Pastor of Equipping and Discipleship at Creekside Church in Rocklin, CA. Prior to going back into pastoral ministry, Mark spent ten years on staff at Eternity Bible College as a Campus Pastor, Dean of Students, and then Associate Professor. He is passionate about building up the body of Christ, training future leaders for the Church, and writing. Though he is interested in many areas of theology and philosophy, Mark is most fascinated with practical theology and exploring the many ways in which the Bible can speak to and transform our world. He is the author of Resonate: Enjoying God’s Gift of Music and the co-author with Francis Chan of Multiply: Disciples Making Disciples. Mark lives in Rocklin with his wife and two daughters.

Brian Colmery

Brian Colmery lives in West Los Angeles with his wife Chrissie and their two kids, Quinn and Weston.  He met Scott Mehl (also an Eternity professor) at the Master’s Seminary and the two of them planted Shoreline Church in 2005.  In 2011, Shoreline merged with another local church to become Cornerstone West LA.  Brian serves as an elder and oversees corporate worship and preaching.  His outside interests include music and freshly roasted, properly brewed coffee.

 

Dr. Joey Dodson

Joey Dodson is the assistant professor of Biblical Studies at Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia, AR. He received his Ph.D. in Second Temple Judaism and New Testament from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Before returning to the States, Joey spent a year as a guest researcher at the Universität Tübingen in Germany. Joey loves to research and write and to travel and speak, but most of all, he loves being with his family. He met his wife Sadie when they were in first grade. They married in 1995 and now have one daughter and four sons.

 

Ernesto Duke

Ernesto is passionate about intersecting culture and the “multi” Church. Most recently he was a part of the core leadership at Living Stones Piedras Vivas LA in Canoga Park, CA. At Piedras Vivas Ernesto served as a worship pastor and also assisted in teaching, discipleship and community development. Before helping start Piedras Vivas in 2011, Ernesto lived as a missionary at Door of Faith Orphanage in La Misión, BC, MX. Ernesto hopes to one day make the rich education from Eternity Bible College available to the Latino Church, both foreign and domestic. Outside of his studies, Ernesto enjoys surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding and anything else that involves a board and the risk of a possible concussion.

Ernesto has been married to Renae since March, 2011. Ernesto and Renae have 2 sons, Finehas James and Amos León.

Joshua Grauman

Josh grew up with a love for everything electrical. In college, God changed Josh’s passions and so after finishing his master’s degree in engineering, he came to Souther California to get his M.Div. Josh has been serving as a pastor since 2003 and teaching at Eternity Bible College since 2005. The biggest blessing came in 2004 in marrying Melody, who loves caring for people in the neighborhood, including their two beautiful daughters and their foster children. Currently, Josh is excited to be church planting in South LA, caring for the lowly and showing them the hope of the gospel. Josh also loves robotics, programming (Bible software), languages (Hebrew, Greek, and Spanish), and studying and teaching through as many books of the Bible as he is able.

 

Dr. David “Gunner” Gundersen

Gunner currently serves as the Director of Student Life and Adjunct Professor of Biblical Counseling at Boyce College, the undergraduate school of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He has been married to Cindi since 2002, and they have four children. After growing up in Oklahoma, Gunner spent twelve years in Southern California studying and serving at The Master’s University and Seminary. Gunner teaches in Eternity’s Distance Education Program.

Matthew Halsted

Having served in ministry since 2009, Matthew’s passion is to equip Christians with the tools they need to be a gracious, well-reasoned, and convincing witness for Christ. His calling is to bridge the unfortunate gap that exists between the church and the academy, between the affections of the heart and the life of the mind. His research interests include hermeneutics, philosophy, and Pauline theology. When he is not reading obscure German philosophers or the Greek Bible, he can usually be found playing in the yard with his kids or being elated with the joy that comes with being married to the best wife in the world. Matthew and his family currently live in central Oklahoma where he is blessed to be the pastor of a most-wonderful and an exceptionally-loving church.

Benjamin Laird

A native of Denver, Colorado, Ben has served in pastoral leadership roles in local churches in Virginia and Scotland and has received theological training from Liberty University, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, the University of St. Andrews, and the University of Aberdeen. Ben and his wife Margaret have five children (three daughters and two sons) and reside in Lynchburg, VA. When not teaching or studying, Ben enjoys the outdoors, sports, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Geoff Leatherman

Geoff Leatherman currently works at Colossae Church in Tigard, OR as the Tigard Location Pastor. He has been working at the church since 2012. Prior to moving up to help start Colossae, Geoff worked at Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, CA as an Associate Pastor. He has been teaching or involved with Eternity for over 10 years. He is the father of four children and has been married for 14 years.

 

Doug Main

Doug Main currently serves as the Pastor of Cornerstone Church in Santa Clarita. Prior to his current ministry he served as the Junior High Minister of Grace Community Church, the Pastor to College Students of Hallsville Baptist Church of Hallsville, Missouri, and Co-Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Lamar, Missouri. Doug is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time with his wife Francesca and their five children. His teaching emphases include the Gospel of Mark, the Book of Romans, and Titus, along with several other subjects.

Dr. Jon Marshall

Jon lives in Culver City with his wife and three little children. They’re trying to plant a new church and enjoying watching God do amazing things. Jon loves to teach people about Jesus and how to live and communicate his message today. Jon enjoys playing with his children, dating his wife, playing volleyball, surfing, walking, hiking, and spending time with people.

Ian McDougall

Ian is a Southern Californian who has spent a number of years in education and vocational ministry. Formerly a high school and young adult pastor, Ian transitioned into online education where he teaches philosophy at a number of different online universities. He has been married for 15 years and has two children. Ian is an avid softball player and enjoys good cigars. People rarely suspect he teaches philosophy.

Ryan McGladdery

Before coming to Simi Valley, Ryan spent two years teaching classes at International School Tegucigalpa in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Ryan is a pastor at heart and has a passion for building up the church and training future leaders. Ryan and his wife, Nicole, have one son.

Dr. Scott Mehl

After four years of college ministry, Scott planted Shoreline Church in West Los Angeles along with Brian Colmery. In 2011 Shoreline merged with First Baptist Church of West LA to form Cornerstone Church of West LA where Scott continues to love and live with the people he shepherds.  Scott’s passions include teaching, preaching, counseling, discipling, and reaching out to the lost in West LA. Scott has been married to Lara since 2003 and has four children. More than anything, he simply enjoys being with people, and getting to watch as the gospel transforms their (and his) lives.


Paul Moomjean

Paul started working for Eternity Bible College in the fall of 2011 as the writing workshop professor and later taught a Film and Christianity course. Paul is currently the Department Head of English at Grace Brethren High School, where he teaches Expository Composition, Critical Thinking, and Advance Placement Literature & Composition.

Before working at Eternity, Paul was a teacher for Hillcrest Christian Schools (2003-2006), an assistant and writer for Nickelodeon and CBS TV (2006-2008), and a marketing director for ITT Technical Institute (2010-2011). He currently writes for the VC Reporter, and he has written for The California Wrestler, the Los Angeles Daily News, and other publications.

When Paul isn’t teaching or writing, he is a wrestling coach with El Camino Real High School and a stand up comedian at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank. He attends Grace Brethren Church in Simi Valley where he helps teach in a Bible study as well.

Justin Peterson

Justin is currently the pastor of Colossae Church in Hillsboro, Oregon. Before moving to Oregon in 2008, he was a youth pastor at Wiregrass Church in Dothan, Alabama. He is married to Katy and together they have one daughter, Nya. He has been teaching at EBC since 2011.

Andrew Rillera

Andrew has been married to Karianne since 2006 and together they have two children: Eden (born 2011), and Zion (born 2013). Andrew is currently a PhD candidate at Duke University in Durham, NC. Prior to that he served as the College Director at Cornerstone Community Church in Moorpark, CA while completing his MA in Theology and Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary. He is the assisting author with Preston Sprinkle in Fight: A Christian Case for Nonviolence (2013). His academic interests include the apostle Paul’s relation to Early Judaism, the use of Israel’s Scriptures in the NT, Christian ethics, and hermeneutics. He views his vocation as being a pastorally minded scholar and seeks to bridge the gap between the church and academy in his personal church ministry as well as in his research and writing.

When Andrew isn’t hanging out with his family, studying, or grading, he is probably watching hockey. Karianne is gracious enough to make it possible for him to play ice hockey two nights a week and make it an event for the whole family (when the game times are early enough). Andrew considers it a wonderful privilege to now be able to share in the educational and spiritual formation of future Eternity graduates as his time at Eternity was both life-changing and life-giving.

 

Jeff Steele

Jeff served on staff at Hume Lake Christian Camps for five summers and has also been on staff with Young Life.  Jeff is currently involved in planting an Acts 29 network church in South Florida.  Academically, Jeff has interests in the history of philosophy (primarily ancient and medieval ethical theorizing about goodness and happiness), philosophical theology, medieval theology, and apologetics.  When he is not studying, Jeff enjoys snowboarding, backpacking, mountaineering, and spending time with his wife, Kelly.

Matt Swaney

Matt is married to Laurel and has three children (Isaac, Liv, and Duren). He served as a college pastor at Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley (’08-’09) and Bethany Church in Long Beach (’03-’08). Matt moved to Long Beach, California where he serves at Common Church which he founded in 2009. Matt has a passion for teaching and living out God’s Word and bringing others along with him—learning to be the church as a family. Matt usually has multiple house-guests and enjoys coaching his son’s soccer and baseball teams.

 

Dan VanHeerden

Dan was born and raised in South Africa and has always been drawn to counseling and helping people. He is married to Julie and they have four children, soon to be five (they are in the process of adopting a little boy from Eastern Europe). After auditing some classes at Eternity Bible College, Dan enrolled in the Master’s University to study biblical counseling with the purpose to help and support missionaries. Dan and his family are preparing to serve the Lord by doing missionary care work in South Africa by opening an oasis in Cape Town where missionaries can receive counseling, coaching and relaxation. Dan is part of the counseling ministry at Cornerstone Community Church in Simi Valley to restore the relationship of people to God and one another.

 

Joshua Walker

Joshua Walker was a Mechanical Engineer working in the aerospace industry for eight years from 1995-2003. During that time he served at Rolling Hills Covenant Church in Rolling Hills, California in many leadership roles (deacon, elder, committee chairman, Bible instructor). With a passion to serve Christ more, he entered seminary in 2001 and began to pursue whatever ministry God intended for him. He is currently blessed to be serving as the Academic Dean of Eternity Bible College.

Chris Woznicki

Chris serves as the college Life Group Director at the Church at Rocky Peak and is on the board of “Equipping the Church International,” an organization that provides theological training for under-resourced pastors in Latin America. With a heart for mission, discipleship, and academics he sees his call as “equipping the Church for the sake of mission.” He is working on his PhD in Systematic Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary. He is interested in analytic theology, the theology of Jonathan Edwards, and the study of the synoptic gospels. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. On his spare time you can find him reading, writing, working out for obstacle course races, or hanging out at Starbucks.
